welcome
This is the virtual home of Aldermaston Women's Peace Camp and Campaign. It is where you will find us when we are not hanging out around the fire at camp ... plotting the end of nuclear weapons,
patriarchy, war ... etc
Established in 1985, the camp remains a symbol of resistance to nuclear madness - and British-manufactured weapons of mass destruction in particular.
AWPC continues to campaign against new developments at Aldermaston, which we - and others - consider will allow the UK
government to build a new generation of nuclear weapons - a replacement for the current submarine-based Trident system.
After outlining its plans in December's White Paper, the government put the question of replacing the submarines to a parliamentary vote on 14 March 2007 - a vote which it narrowly won. See the news pages for details.
Meanwhile at Aldermaston, and in advance of any public decision on the future of the warheads the submarines will carry, building work is going ahead on the new Orion laser facility - a key element in the testing and design of new nuclear weapons.
On this site you'll find a number of ways to join us to *stop the next generation of nuclear weapons*.
For more information, or to subscribe to our "next generation" (tng) email alerts - with details of actions you can take to oppose such developments - please visit the "the next generation - TNG" section. For nonviolent direct action, click on the link to Block the Builders.
